Last year, reelhorrorshow had the pleasure of viewing an early screener of a film titled Big Top Evil. Director Sean Haitz dropped the screener in our mailbox and I banged out a review which can be found in these hallowed pages.
Big Top Evil is a low budget, independent production starring an unknown cast except for one name horror fans will instantly recognise. Bill (Chop Top, Otis Driftwood) Moseley.
As I stated in the review, while BTE is a low budget production, what Sean did with that budget gave the film a much grander feel. We at RHS loved the movie and were excited to see what Sean would do next.
Well, the wait is over. The teaser for his next movie, Cannibal Comedian, has dropped, and it looks fantastic. While it’s a little early to say, the trailer would suggest a larger budget, giving CC a more expensive cinematic feel.
The story, in a nutshell, is about a psychopathic cannibal named Charlie, who’s fed up with his lack of ambition. In an attempt to satisfy his appetite for normalcy, he tries his hand at stand-up comedy instead.
As I sit here writing this, I’m imagining Leatherface becoming Rupert Pupkin and I’m fascinated. Cannibal Comedian is written and directed by Sean Haitz. It stars Aaron Prager, Austin Judd, Robert Dunne, David Vega and Mis Sadistic. We’re not sure of the exact release date yet but will keep you updated once we know more.
Meanwhile, you can view the teaser below, and if you haven’t done so already, go check out Big Top Evil. It’s an inventive, funny and wonderfully gory treat.
